Electrolytic refining
The electrolytic refinery anodes are electrotechnically refined into high purity cathodes.
Copper electrorefinery entails the electrochemically dissolving of copper from the impure anodes into the electrolyte and the electrochemically plating of pure copper onto cathodes. A cathode typically contains 99.995% copper.
